Back Country Horsemen of North Georgia
Is one of four chapters that make up the Georgia state chapter of Back Country Horsemen of America. We are dedicated to the continued common sense use and enjoyment of horses in Americas back country and wilderness. We work to ensure that public lands remain open for recreational stock use by assisting various government and private agencies in the maintenance of those public lands. Our area is primarily USFS lands in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest including the Cohutta Wilderness and the Cohutta Wildlife Management areas of the Conasauga and Blue Ridge Ranger districts. We, the Back Country Horsemen of North Georgia, also help maintain two primitive equine friendly USFS campgrounds in our area.
